The Needlers Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that contributes exclusively to children’s organization. “It started about fifty years ago. My father and a couple of garment industry buddies started a charity that would help unemployed garment workers’ pay their mortgage or other expenses. It was a pretty successful idea and that concept morphed into a children’s charity organization. Over the past fifty years we have raised millions of dollars for children’s charities,” details The Needlers Foundation President Scott Fishman. And in those fifty years The Needlers Foundation has contributed millions of dollars to the INN Project at NYC’s Roosevelt Hospital, the Pediatric Wing at NYU Medical Center, The Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, and The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore.

Needlers Foundation to Honor Carr Xerox at Annual June Gala Benefiting Childrens Charities
What a phenomenal event was had by everyone at our annual June Gala. This year, we honored David J. Herbine and Anthony DelGrosso from Xerox at the incredible rooftop lounge at 230 Fifth. Many thanks to everyone who came out to support Needler’s children and dance the night away under the stars, surrounded by stunning views of the NYC skyline. Truly it was a night to remember!

Today, the Needlers Foundation is still going strong. Over the last 45 or so years, the group has directed its donations to a number of children’s causes, explains Mr. Fishman, 56 years old, president of the Needlers Foundation and president of his family’s apparel business, Avin International, a New York-based ladies clothing and manufacturing company.

This October, Needler’s will name Thomas Kingsbury, President and CEO of Burlington Coat Factory, “Retailer of the Year” and will honor him at the “Retailer of the Year” gala, which honors individuals/retailers that have demonstrated a commitment to community. This annual gala will be held at The Waldorf Astoria on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in New York City. Scott Fishman, President of the Needlers Foundation, commented, “As we reflect on our rich 50 year history, we are most proud of the life-changing work we are doing for children in need…”
